Summer Choices: Paper or Electronic?

Ladies, summer is here! Many of you are planning family, girlfriend, husband/children free vacations! You love relaxing in the cabanas at the beach, enjoying the sun and breeze of the tropics! Some of you may like to sleep all day under the sun (just wear your sunscreen), others may like to read. Hence comes that proverbial question of "how do you like your reading?". Nowadays we have choices ladies.

To paper book read or electronic-read?

Personally, i love the feel and smell of paper books. Turning the pages and physically displaying the book afterwards on my bookshelf. Love it! Although i may be killing a tree (i recycle) in my reading process, if i loose the paper book, i won't be going crazy out of my mind trying to find it, because honestly it was under $15.00! Furthermore, i don't have to power up my book!

How do you like your reading? Paper or Electronic? This is becoming a very difficult summer choice! Therefore, confess ladies, this summer, which choice have you made? Which side are you on and why?
(if you haven't made a choice...choose today!)

Oh I so see the dilemma. I like the speed of getting a new book, but I feel sorry for the old books (yes, I know that sounds crazy). I think I'm sticking with the actual book though, because I'm one of those people that writes all over a book, not as a sign of disrespect, but on the contrary, a symbol of adoration for a thought provoking statement. I don't know if my reason makes sense, but I'm stickin' to it LOL I just found your blog and *love* it!!! I'm your newest follower :-)

Thanks for linking up to the NOBH. I have a kindle and use it when traveling but still buy the occasional book every once in a while:)

I like actual books and e- books. I like actual books because it is easier to go back and look something up in them even if you didn't bookmark it. Also, it is easier to see how many pages are in a chapter which id something I always like to do when I start a chapter. I like e-books because they are easier to carry around and it is no heavier to carry around 100 books than 1. Also, because you don't have to worry about losing your place because your bookmark fell out.

I have to agree with meandmom, I've got an e-reader AND a pile of books spilling off my bedside table.

I use the e-reader when my hubby is grumpy because the wee reading light on the e-reader doesn't keep him awake but the bedside lamp does. I also take it traveling - my e-reader and my Iphone mean no checked luggage just to accommodate the 6 books and 3 magazines I never could travel without...

Paper books are good for savoring the whole extended reading experience...unless it's a very heavy book...Books with illustrations or maps in the front just don't work on an e-reader.

It's the best of both worlds, not a one or t'other world. What's the down side?

I like it both ways (like the others above...)

Does that make me "bi-readual?"

Thank you so much for linking up with Makes My Monday...you helped make mine!

AGREED on the paper books - tried the electronic and hated it too much. I read quickly and I like to skip over some parts and go back sometimes and that was just too hard to do electronically :D

My choice is, hands down, paper. I have tried and tried to get into the electronic books, but I just can't. I love that paper books can be read in the bright sun, where my iPod cannot. I don't have to worry so much about dropping a paper book or it getting a little wet. I panic with my iPod, taking it in any but ideal conditions. With a paper book it's not hundreds of dollars to replace if something should happen to it.

Stopping by from the Tuesdays Gone blog hop. I hope you enjoy the rest of your week!

We have an iPad and kindle apps on our phones, but to be completely honest with you, I prefer book reading also! My other half though, well lets just say he's very "tech savvy".
