Celebrating Our 30s: Trina

Trina has one of the most adorable blogs in blogland.  She chronicles the adventures of her and daughter Peyton.   Trina shares their adventures through fashion, fun and family.
Peyton seriously has one of the best closets around!
We were excited when Trina agreed to share with us how she is celebrating being and living her thirties.  She is definitely Peyton's mom but also a woman who enjoys her family, friends,
fun and fabulous fashion finds.
But let Trina tell you in her own words how she is enjoying her thirties!

(Aren't they are adorable together!)

Age:
33

What have you changed about the following areas since turning 30?
Physical
Since turning 30 it is not as easy to lose weight, but is it never easy to lose weight in the first place.
 Social
I am still a social butterfly!  I love talking to people!  I have learned to think before I speak in some situations
Money
I thought I would be a millionaire on by my own merits by the time I turned 30.  That didn’t happen : (  So I just keep working and trying to save for my daughters future.
Relationships
I cherish my relationships with girlfriends.  I have the some of the same friends from high school, college and even grade school.  I am blessed to have such great friends in my 30’s.
Children
I had my first ( and only for now) child at 31.  I feel like I was late but all my friends where around 30 when they started having kids.

How are you balancing work, family and friends?
I try to balance by not sleeping to do things for myself.  Still working on that.

Any fashion and beauty you've learnt since turning 30?
Know what looks good on you! Don’t try to go with trends if they don’t work for you.

How do you keep fit?
I love doing Zumba!  Its hour long dance party, plus you learn “new” songs.

Do you have one advice you would like to tell your children/future children?
Love and be happy with yourself!  You are worthy of everything great!

Did you think you would be married with children by 30?
In my 20’s I was not sure I even wanted to have children.  I am so happy I did!  It’s everything worth it!

Does your husband (family) ever read your blog?
My husband checks out the blog, he just looks at the photos I post.

Make a Confession about being a 30something?
I love when people assume that I am younger then I am and then I bust out and tell them I am 33!

Do you have any favorite motto you go by?
30 is the new 20!

Trina, TC30s definitely agrees with you that "30 is the new 20."
And you are making 33 look soo good!
Thank you Trina for sharing a little about the woman who is known as Peyton's mom.
Ladies, please stop by her blog when you get an opportunity.
You may find a few fashion finds and deals for you and the little one!

Ladies, i am proud and excited to intoduce you to B of Bravoe Runaway as she takesover!

I am super excited that Mrs. Pancakes reached out to me for guest post! She asked that I address key pieces for transitioning into Fall! I am sure your closet is packed with cardigans, blazers, jeans, slacks, and skirts. And I suspect that many of you are on a budget, yet you still want to look great! So let’s take a look at some ways to breathe new life into the existing pieces in your closet!

BELTS

Belts are a great and inexpensive way to add accent to any outfit! Check out my simple sweater and jeans and how the belt added accent to my outfit! If you have a garment that came with a belt, change it up and it’ll look and feel different! I suggest trying a variety of styles and thickness, such as, braided, fabric, embellishment, animal print, and patent over a dress, cardigan, a blouse, or with a skirt!

FAUX FUR

Faux fur is haute again for the 3rd year in a row! These pieces add a luxurious factor and nowadays, you can get them for under $70! This particular jacket was purchased from Forever 21, it has a vintage 1960s feel, can you imagine all the pieces you can pair this with? Try a jacket, vest, or a piece with a fur embellishment. You can make it as casual or as fancy as you’d like!

SCARVES

I love a great scarf in any size, colour, and material! I’ve used them to create bracelets, belts, and even a ruffle collar! If belts aren’t your thing, scarves are another great way to revive an outfit. Tying scarves is a true art!

SHOES & BOOTIES

If you are trying to just keep your shoe purchases to a minimum for Fall I suggest a taupe pump and a short black bootie! The pump is from Joan & David, “Flipp,” with an embossed reptile print that adds a gorgeous accent to any simple outfit. Taupe matches everything and the round-toe style is versatile! The black short booties are from Bandolino, “Sarala,” with a back zip. They’re comfortable, with a slight platform and look great with a skirt, slacks, and even jeans!

Ladies, I hope you’ll put these ideas to good use when you go on your Fall shopping trip and will revamp your current closet pieces!

Thank you for having me, and please stop by and say “Hi,” at Bravoe Runway!

Fitness, Food & Fun Friday: H2O

Disclaimer: important information BUT don't read this if you are eating!

Recently i was advised by my personal trainer
to drink a glass of water every morning (as soon as i wake up).

Why is this a good idea? you ask...

According to research, it's good for your digestive system, specifically for the bowel movement.

And i've tried it for the last several months and you know what it works!
Every morning like clock works, i drink water and within minutes, i am in the bathroom!

My stomach doesn't hurt as much and i actually feel great in the mornings.
I am still drinking water throughout the day
however there is nothing better than a glad of H2O in the morning.

Confess ladies, have you heard of this suggestion before?
And would you consider it this week?

Wednesday Fashion Item: Alexander McQueen - Thin Vs Curves

As much as we like Victoria Beckham for her style, we prefer Kim Kardashian for her curves. Both wore a dress by Alexander McQueen and we wanted to know which one wears it better.

Be Inspired Monday: Training

I am reading The Essence of Happiness by His Holiness The Dalai Lama.I read the following quote and I would like to share with you.
No matter what atticity or practice we are pursuing, there isn't anything that isn't made easier through constant familiarity and training. Through training, we can change; we can transform ourselves.
Hope this inspire all of us.

Have a great Monday!

Be Inspired Monday: Mi-Inspiration

Sometimes we talk about how celebrities inspire us but there are so many NON-celebrity women out there that inspire so much. Saturday we featured Miesha, the blogger behind Mi-Inspire... healthy lifestyle transformation, a blogger we fell in love with because she is a true inspiration because through her life transformation she shows us what means to have a focus, determination and motivation to achieve a healthy and fullfilling lifestyle.
My Photo

Miesha's letter made us think about the importance of giving oneself a good advice from young age and looking at life through positive lenses. And TC30s love living life as best as we can live it.
We hope many people could re-read these lines:
Never allow anyone else to dictate or control your life. As an adult you are
capable of making your own decisions. You may not always make the right choices but the key is learning from your mistakes and moving forward. A person that says they love you does not abuse you, whether that be mental or physical abuse. A person that says they love you does not take from you either. At the first signs of abusive behavior hit the road and never look back. The backlash of abuse can been felt for many years in ways that you'll never imagine.
It is okay to seek help when you feel like you are battling something that you no longer have control over. You are not a failure because you are not perfect. Nobody is perfect. It is not healthy to try to live up to others' expectations for your life. Your family history does not have to set the precedence for your life. Watching your mother get abused doesn't mean that you have to be abused. Choose a better path for yourself. Surround yourself with positive, nurturing people that only have your best interest at heart.
We believe that to do better in life one must surround her/himself with positive and nurturing people. Positive thinking is a true key to success!

We hope this letter inspires you on today's Be Inspired Monday.

Celebrating Our 30s!: Miesha

There are some bloggers that you meet and right away you are fascinated by their story.
Miesha is one of those bloggers.
Her story is incredible and we are honored to share her with TC30 readers!
Miesha is truly an inspiration in the blogging world for many reasons.
First reason, she is that she is DETERMINED, second reason, she is MOTIVATED
third reason, she is 30 and fourth reason, she is FABULOUS!
We give these reasons (and there are many more) not because she's lost over 100lbs
(with exercise and proper eating),
but because she has transformed her life inside and out.
she chronicles her story of weight-loss, healthy living and her life as a mother to two beautiful girls.
She inspires us and we hope she inspires you too!
Below she writes a letter to her 20-something self because in her 30s, she is realizing that life is filled with ups and downs, but there is definitely a lot of joy in the adventure!
Enjoy her but most importantly, be inspired by her!

A letter to my 20-something self:

Dear Miesha Roshawn,
You may not understand the purpose of this letter right now but I hope one day you will appreciate this advise. There are so many things I'd like to tell you, but I acknowledge only a few of these things will matter in the end. First of all, there is no man walking this earth that will love you in the way that God loves you. Besides that, all others are secondary factors. The love that you show him will be reflected in the way that you treat and love yourself. Actions should always speak louder than words and when a person shows you who they are..PAY ATTENTION!
Never allow anyone else to dictate or control your life. As an adult you are capable of making your own decisions. You may not always make the right choices but they key is learning from your mistakes and moving forward.
Always take good care of yourself. Keep your weight in check and learn how to eat right. Obesity is a disease that is claiming the lives of so many people. Generally this is something that can be prevented. There is nothing better than taking care of and loving yourself. Others might call it "vain" but who cares, you only get one body to live in so please treat it right. Pick and choose wisely the people that you have intimate relationships with. Diseases are real and condoms will never go out of style. Also be very careful with whom you choose to have children with. Although kids are a blessing, everyone is not special enough to hold the title of "parent." Ideally wait until you are married to have kids, in this day in age it's not the normal thing to do but hold your ground and stick to what you believe in.
There will be many bumps in the road and you have what it takes to be successful at conquering them. You are smart and beautiful and worth so much more than what you've settled for. You can and will pull yourself up when you fall down and make all of your dreams become a reality. Use your God given talents, they bring so many people joy. Last but not least never give up on yourself!

Love Always, Me
