Life is Hard, Laugh Anyway

Hi Ladies of TC30S,

I am so happy that you have given me the spotlight opportunity today.
I am ready, what questions do you have for me and is this G, PG13, or X rated?
Let me know cause I want to ensure I am content appropriate.
Kidding!
Just breaking the ice.
Let’s start.

1.       Name & blog
Latorsha. I blog at Life is Hard, Laugh Anyway

2.      Age
33 and loving it!

3).      What have you changed about the following areas since turning 30?
Physical – Well, I realized that the boobs don’t stand up as well as they used to, especially after breastfeeding, so I got them some help by investing in a sexy push up from Victoria’s Secret. Needless to say the girls are at attention again.

Social – I have really learned to embrace people who touch my life whether they are online connections or people I have met face to face. If they touch my spirit I welcome them to my world. If not, I am strong enough to move on.

Children – My son turned 1 right around the time I turned 30. Over the last few years I have accepted that sometimes it is okay to let your child win. Save your energy for the stuff that really matters.

4. Make a Confession about being a 30something?
I confess 30 made me better!!

5. What would you tell your 20-something self?
The BEST is yet to come! Oh and leave that loser dude alone. He is seeing another woman and she’ll have his baby soon! RUN!!

6. What is your favourite body part?
Right now my arms, I don’t like to brag but since you asked I gotta nice set of weapons up top.

7. What have you learned about intimacy?
Having been married 9 years, I have to say keep it fresh. Don’t be afraid to try something new.

8. What would you tell your 40-something self?
Remember how much you loved turning 30, well 40 is just an extensive of it.
Keep the party going!

9. How do you keep fit?
I work out 4-5 times a week. The routine varies, but it is a combination of weights, cardio, and swim. I wish I could tell you I ate healthy all the time, but I don’t want to lie.
So let’s keep moving.

10.  Does your husband (family) ever read your blog?
I know he bookmarked it on his laptop but since he never says “I can’t believe you said that about me” I figure he doesn’t read it. That’s okay, gives me more to talk about.

Before I go, I just want to say to all the 20 somethings out there, you ain’t seen nothing yet!
30 is absolutely fabulous.
Just wait!

Latorsha, is the blogger of Life is Hard, Laugh Anyway, a place where she tries to remain optimistic by any means necessary, mostly laughter. You can check out her blog Here , follow on twitter @AnOptimisticMom or contact her at AnOptimisticMom@ gmail.com

Fitness, Food & Fun Friday: Dresser Refurbishment

This is going to be fun for me, because this is my first time attempting to refurbish something.

Do you remember Karate Kid, the 1984 one? The story of Daniel and how he learns martial arts by waxing cars, sanding a wooden floor, refinishing a fence, and painting Miyagi's house.

This is what Fun Friday is about. No, I don't want to learn martial arts. All I want to do is to refurbish this dresser I bought yesterday.
Apart from hoping to to have something nice out of the old dresser, I believe sanding off and painting will be a fun way to keep fit. The hardest part is sanding off the old varnish with a sandpaper, in the end I will have tired arms. I will be thinking about Karate Kid - rub and wax.

Have you ever done something fun that at first sight it doesn't look fitness workout? Have you ever refurbished something before?

Please share and have fun on Friday TC30s!

On Marriage: Good Sex Before or After 30s?

{via}

We are all adult here, right?

Good :)!... then let's talk about SEX!

When my sister was younger, my other sisters and I (who were older by two/three years) would tease her saying: "We will share secrets about making whoopee when you are much older!"

What were these sex secrets that I would not share with her when she was in her early twenties? (now she is almost 30 :). Thinking about when she will come and ask me these secrets lead me to this post! After all it is about confessions in our 30somethings, right?

As I have matured and finally met my husband-to-be, I definitely believe sex has gotten much better. Making whoppee has gone from just a physical act to a level of intimacy that I have never felt before. Have you ever cried during sex (for good reasons?) I am referring to that level of intensity of intimacy!

Then recently one of my girlfiends asked me:"How do you have good sex?""{she has not had a lot of good sex in her adult life}

I am not an expert on sex but I am definitely an expert on my own sex life! (I don't speak a lot about that but once in a while, girls can talk without ever putting our significant others in any embarrassing or compromising situations ;)!

The answer to this question prompted me to think about my own sex life from my twenties and now in my thirties. In my twenties, I was more worried about being loved by my partner. I did not focus on intimacy and sharing love making with the person I was with. I wanted to please, instead of pleasing each other.

Therefore, for me, it is not necessarily about whether sex became better in my 30something, it is about becoming comfortable with oneself as a woman and accepting your sexuality. But most importantly sex/making or whoppee/love become even more fun because one meets the right person who attracte you and makes you feel sexy beyond words!

I met the man who gives me all this and we enjoy each other's company, that translates into how intimate we are with one another in the bedroom.

So, TC30s ladies out there...what are you thinking:

1) When did you manage to achieve the deeper intimacy with your partner?

2) Is making whoppee better in your 30s or you managed to get to that intimacy in your 20s?

3) What has made it better for you?

Please, confess something that makes you feel comfortable!

On Beauty: The Impromptu Purchase

I just got back from Shopper Drug Mart. I went there because I wanted to try to find something similar to a dermatological cream I used London. I found something similar, but before finding, I found something else.
A package full of beauty items I didn't plan to purchase. I made a quick calculation.
I will need toothpaste soon, and that alone is $2. I wouldn't mind trying that coconut scrub. Even though the package is priced $8.99, it is discounted to $7.99.

The content:Satin Care Shave gel
Lady Speed Stick Anti-Perspirant
Nivea Essentials
Colgate Total toothpaste
Vaseline Sheer Infusion Body Lotion
Veet Wax Strips
Aveeno Volumizing Mousse
Coconut Scrub Softsoap Bodywash
Pantene Shampoo
Pantene Conditioner
Schick Quattro Razor
Garnier Moisture Rescue Gel-Cream Sample

I know, I won't use some of the items in the box, but WOW, the total value of the items is more than $54.00. That's the reason I bought something I didn't plan to purchase.

Have you ever bought a beauty item on a whim due to value for money?

Be Inspired Monday: No Limit

Did you watch Expedition Impossible? I was addicted to it. If you did watch it then you know who were the No Limit group. The group was composed by three men. One is blind, the other broke his leg half way the mission, leaving them vulnerable in the adventure. They had to go through lot of diversities but managed to come third in show. They never saw themselves as victims.

They inspire me because they showed that no matter what may come in your life, you have to push forward and never give up.

Hope they inspire you too on this labour day!
